Great Budget Commuter — With One Caveat
I bought the ES1 for my daily 15-mile commute, and it’s been a solid investment. The 11kW motor gets me to work in about 20 minutes, and I plug it in at my desk. The removable batteries are a game-changer — I can charge them at home or work without moving the bike. The keyless start and alarm system are nice touches.
That said, I got the base model with one battery, and the top speed is limited to about 50 mph. If you want the full 62+ mph, you’ll need to buy a second battery. I eventually got a second one, and now it’s a completely different bike. Torque Rides was upfront about this, which I appreciated.
